However, many of the smarthones that are jumping off the production line come with similar specs and looks, but there are also a few new releases that stand out and can be distinguished due to some unique features. If you are tech savvy, or at least aren’t totally news-proof, you should have heard by now about the new iPhone 6 Plus released by Apple recently. Apple stores and partner websites have been taken by storm upon the device’s pre-order and release dates, as a lot of people wanted to grab the new device. The handset displays an aluminum body that gives it a premium look and feel, and also wraps nicely around a 5.5 inch screen. According to GSM Arena, the display uses a 1080 x 1920 resolution combined with a pretty high 401 ppi pixel density. The iPhone 6 Plus has a pretty reasonable weight, considering the premium materials used for its manufacturing, as it weighs no more than 6.07 ounces. The front facing camera has only 1.2 MP but the device makes up for it with its 8 MP rear camera which provides photos of excellent quality. All the photos you take can be stored on the large internal memory which varies from 16 to 128 GB, with a 64 GB model in the middle. You can get up to 24 hours of talk time for this device, so that’s something to take into consideration.
Now that we know a little bit about the new iPhone 6 Plus, it’s time to see what it’s facing today. From Sony, we have the Xperia ZL which comes with a 5 inch screen that displays images at a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The pixel density for this handset is greater than what you find on the iPhone 6 Plus, 441 ppi, compared to the iPhone’s lower, but still good 401 ppi. The device is lighter than the iPhone, with only 5.33 ounces, and features a camera combo that includes a 13 MP camera on the rear, and a 2 MP shooter in the front. For storage, the Xperia ZL provides 16 GB, the same as Apple’s lowest iPhone 6 Plus variant. The phone’s battery will assure 10 hours of talk time before the handset gives out.
Conclusion
Although the Xperia ZL is a great device, it slightly fall behind the iPhone 6 Plus which features a better image quality and a bigger screen. The build quality is also a big plus for the Apple handset which ha a longer lasting battery.
